

LCSW / LPC Therapist
Incorporated in 1970, Visions and Pathways (V&P) was New Jersey’s first private 501(c)(3) non-profit youth shelter. Our mission is to provide abused, neglected, homeless and missing youth with housing, a stable environment and supportive services that help them become self-sufficient.
Our Behavioral Department has an immediate opening for a LCSW/LPC Therapist with experience in conducting individual, group and family therapy with troubled youth and their families and work collaboratively with other members of Visions and Pathways to provide care to residents.
Position Summary:
- Provide crisis intervention and supportive counseling services to residents or crisis clients served by Visions and Pathways.
- Assist clients with practical skills such as self-advocacy, assertiveness, and bargaining, negotiating, organizing and other issues as necessary through weekly group counseling.
- Continually review treatment needs of clients, including clinical or supportive programming, and coordinate appropriate referrals with the case manager.
- Provide case consultation to case managers.
- Complete psychosocial/substance use assessment on all youth upon admission providing recommendations to case managers.
- Participate in case management/treatment team meetings as necessary.
- Provide weekly individual counseling to residents assigned.
- Provide group and/or family counseling as necessary.
- Assist in reviewing and development of training program for front-line staff.
- Be sensitive to cultural differences of clients and respond appropriately.
Position Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, LCSW or LPC.
- Two years of post-graduate experience working with children and young adults with behavioral issues highly desired.
- English/Spanish Bilingual a plus.
