Resident Advisor

Founded in 1970 and located in central New Jersey, Visions and Pathways has a proud, successful history of living its mission to provide abused, neglected and homeless youth with housing, a stable environment and supportive services. Visions and Pathways helps guide our youth through difficult family situations toward becoming contributing members of society.
Position Summary
The Resident Advisor reports to Visions and Pathways’ Resident Advisor Supervisors and Assistant Director of Residential Services and is responsible for supervising teenage residents ages 13-21 in a residential group home setting. We have openings for full-time and part-time positions. Applicants should be able to work weekends and/or from 4pm to 12:00 am; 12:00am to 8:00 am shifts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervision of teenage residents ages 13-21 in a residential group home.
- Transportation of residents.
- Facilitate and supervise activities of residents.
- Assist with and supervise meal preparation, chore completion.
- Assist residents and teach them important life skills that will encourage maturity and independence. Document life skills taught.
- Ensure residents’ safety.
- Ensure facility is neat and orderly.
- Provide a positive role model for residents.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma plus 2 years’ experience working with at risk adolescents. Alternatively, associate or bachelor’s degree, preferable in social services, and 1 year experience working with at risk adolescents.
- Valid NJ Driver’s License required.
